Iberoamerican Community of Educators for Scientific Culture
Under the Ibero-American Project Outreach of the Organization of Iberoamerican States for Education, Scientific and Cultural with the support of the Agency English International Cooperation for Development (AECI) are calling for teachers (with pupils aged between 14 and 18) to participate in the American Educational Community for Scientific Culture.
The Community's objective is to share educational resources are produced from the Project scientists, technologists and communicators for use in the classroom, in order to increase scientific literacy of youth in Latin America and, especially, the promotion of vocations to science and engineering.
The promotion of scientific vocation is an expressed need in both the American Conference of Education in the Latin American Forum on Higher Education, Science and Technology, as in the recent Summit of Heads of State and Government of El Salvador.
the same lines within the Project Educational Goals 2021 states following:
specific Meta 15. offer a curriculum that incorporates reading and computer use in teaching and learning, where arts education has a role and to encourage interest in science among students.
Indicator 22. Percentage of students who are scientific or technical training in further education.
level of achievement. Increasing the choice of scientific and technical studies by students and pupils.
The project will start on February 15, 2010 and may participate in more than 500 teachers from all Latin American countries.
participating teachers are required to submit a monthly summary report of the use of materials delivered to assess the activity to its completion, scheduled on 31 May 2010 .
The OEI will provide participating teachers, in addition to materials, teaching strategies for use in the classroom and promote the interaction of students in classrooms in different locations, so that there is an exchange among students as well as the teachers themselves.
Teachers who have met monthly deliveries receive a certificate of participation in the Project attesting to the completion of the work requested.
During the project, will provide classroom experiences (or classes) that will be assessed by the Academic Advising Team Project for dissemination through the Project Review in the web of it.
materials will be cataloged in the following containers:
- the challenges of health and food;
- environmental challenges;
- new frontiers in the matter and energy;
- the conquest of space;
- human habitat;
- digital society.

Each week will be added at least 5 resources (one day).
The exchange will occur on the Virtual Campus Studies Center University of OEI and with a support team computer (computer) is assigned a school counselor for every 50 teachers.
the end of this stage will be incorporated into a community in which they hold forums and seminars.
The participation in training seminars is optional and participants will receive their academic accreditation.
