Well, after a long time (perhaps too much) I should be back on track the blog, the reason I'm going to spend a month in Africa, namely Algeria, a town called Tlemcen which has about 400,000 inhabitants and is located in the northwest, near Morocco and the Mediterranean.
How I ended up in Africa and that I do here? Well, get a scholarship from the Xarxa Vives d'Universitats through the center of Development Cooperation of the University of Valencia , the scholarship in question is called Algeria Universities Program (UAP). And lasts a month (this October), the objective of the scholarship is a stay to collaborate on a research project at the University of Tlemcen . This month of October we have been Rafa and I both finished top computer engineering.
The flight left the airport of L'Altet (Alicante) and in less than an hour we stopped in Oran, to give you an idea of \u200b\u200bhow close is the country although rarely hear about it.
arrival in the country, how almost all the signs are in Arabic and French in Algeria, due to its French colonial past.
We actually had our own encounter with the police when he reviewed our visa and balance sheet to fill in the plane (below the can see), and it seems that they did not understand coming two students asked me how if things came to a conference and that was, at that university Tlemcen was going to go (when there is only one, but was determined to tell the name) or where the heck we were going to be sleeping in Tlemcen. To all this the two officers did not speak English, only French and Arabic spoken in Algeria, luckily in the end it stayed in a story because it appeared a third officer that if he spoke English (and apparently found that there was someone waiting outside) and solved the brown.
Document you fill out when entering the country.

The perfect flight, but getting off a plane and go to the airport and you realize the huge police presence ... Seriously, (non-exaggerate) the country is under strong political pressure, and do not say because they act and do what they please without anyone doing anything, which is not the case, just notice there many police everywhere (maybe my Western eyes are so used to seeing police only in events with many people, etc. ..). What I can say is that police in the office is extremely slow and the queue to check your visa is almost endless.

were waiting outside a driver and a student of a master named Kamar Artificial Intelligence that brought us to Tlemcen (150km in a couple of hours), actually during this trip we realized that actually is a least developed than ours, just watching the cars traveling (most are very old) and the state highway and road (a bit precarious, but later write about this.)
They took us to dinner at a restaurant in town and then took us to our apartment, at first we thought it would be a shared room or a room for each (as with typical residence halls) but it was a whole apartment just for the two and has two rooms, kitchen, western toilet (wc here most are not so lucky we are) and a fairly large room, the apartment is on the campus of the University, the University of Tlemcen is one of the largest in Africa and has plenty of campus where students live and sleep distributed outside the city. The truth is that it is much better that we expected and we have no complaint about that, the only complaint one might find is that the apartment is old, so I said might, because I honestly I do not care and seems logical to me to be where we are.
of the people here I have no complaints about them (despite having controlled much like where we are going to do, etc and sometimes intimidating) I must say they are very hospitable to us, treat us well and are always concerned that we are comfortable. After a day
arrive and settle in what will be our home for a month, the next day Saturday we taught the city's places and tourism (although this is very rare to see tourists), later I will show and talk about these sites. Just say it the next day (Sunday) we went to work at the university, and here the weekend is Friday and Saturday instead of Saturday and Sunday (you can not even imagine that I have mental cocoa because of this, seriously, it's January times worse than jet lag).
Well, on work in the university to say that we are integrating ldap college with a new samba server, at this point if you know that I speak as little more than explain and but you know I am convinced that you can live without knowing it and without having the misfortune of having to solve the problems, which he (and not a few).
